Hybrid Metal and Timber Frame Construction
Each gate leaf is built around a hot flamed zinc sprayed metal frame, then clad both sides with tongue-and-groove (TGV) timber boards. This hybrid construction combines the warm, traditional appearance of wood with the structural stability of metal. The double-sided cladding ensures a neat, symmetrical finish that looks great from inside or outside the property.
Thanks to the metal reinforcement, these Richmond gates avoid common timber problems such as warping, sagging, or twisting over time. That means a more stable, long-lasting gate even when sized for larger entrances.
Option for One-Sided Cladding
Customers can choose to have the gates clad on one side only, offering a cost-effective alternative when a decorative finish is needed on just the outward-facing elevation. This option reduces weight and material costs while maintaining the strong, secure metal frame structure. It’s the perfect solution for entrances where only one side requires a finished timber look. The hot flamed zinc sprayed is a silver gray colour with a matte finish.

Standard sizes cover a wide range of widths and heights, but if your entrance is non-standard, Tate Fencing will custom-make the gates to suit your opening for a perfect fit.
