Description
A gravity catch is a catch which a gate closes onto and remains shut under gravity.
This is a mortise gravity catch which means it is specifically designed to be fitted in the middle of a post through a mortise hole and secure into place with a coach screw or suitable fixing.
The catch has a weight which hold the catch against the post it is mortised through. When a gate closes onto it, the gate rail pushes the latch down until it passes the catch when it clicks back up holding the gate shut under gravity.
We also stock a concrete in gravity catch which is the same principle catch but to be concreted in to a wall.
