How to install your Tate Fencing Sentry Box
The Tate Fencing guide to assembling your sentry box. We have put together this installation guide to show you how to assemble your sentry box. Step 1 – Ensure the shed has a level & sufficient base in place. Position the floor ensuring it is level.
Step 2 – With the floor in place, each panel can now be positioned & screwed together starting with the back panel.
Step 3 – The side panels sit on top of the floor panel. The cladding over hangs the floor panel and finishes flush to the edge.
Step 4 – The shed frame should butt together tight in the corners.
Step 5 – The panels are screwed together through the framework.
Step 6 – The second panel is positioned in place. Butted up tight to the other panel.
Step 7 – The last panel to be fitted and screwed into place is the front panel.
Step 8 – The first roof section is put in place. Then fit the second side. Ensure butted tight to back panel.
Step 9 – The first roof section should look like this from the top view.
Step 10 – The second roof section can be fitted to line up with the first.
Step 11 – The roof sections can be secured by screwing into the framework of the panels inside.
Step 12 – The corner fillets supplied have a shaped end that fits under the roof section. Nail these in each corner.
Step 13 – Next, nail the shaped fascia boards around the top of the front panel & roof panels.
Step 14 – This fascia should look like this when finished, on the front and back of the box.
Step 15 – A strip of DPC is required along the join of the roof sections. Simply tack this into place and remove excess material.
Step 16 – Two lengths of ridge cap is used to protect the DPC and finish the overall look of the roof.
Step 17 – This is how the ridge cap should be positioned on the roof sections.
Step 18 – You have been supplied with 4 x shelf supports that can now be fixed at the same level height inside box.
Step 19 – These suports should be positioned in each corner & screwed into the solid framework in order to fully support shelf.
Step 20 – Once your supports are fitted, you can install the single shelf unit.
Step 21 – Next step is to fit the door using the hinges & screws provided. Screw into the framework of the front panel to secure in place.
Step 22 – Next you must secure the ‘keep’ element of your brenton bolt that will keep the door in a closed position. (A padlock can be used for added security of the box’s contents.)
Step 23 – Your sentry box is now complete!
