Step 1 – Lay rear panel on floor with boards facing up. Insert 4 coach bolts through the pre-drilled holes; you may need a hammer to assist.
Step 2 – Stand the rear panel in position and stand left hand panel into position; single batten to single batten. Line up the holes and knock bolts through. Clean off any sawdust from the bolt thread and apply washer and butterfly nut to inside.
Step 3 – Repeat Step 2 with the right hand panel.
Step 4 – Take two of the loose boards and insert them into the slot between the two battens at the front of the left and right hand panels.
Step 5 -It is advisable to pre-drill the batten sections before fitting the loose boards. Feeling underneath, line up the bottom of the panel with the bottom of the lowest loose board and screw in place through the centre of the batten from the front. Fix on both ends of the board, and then repeat with second board.
Step 6 – The remaining 4 boards are designed to be inserted loose as the compost bin is filled up. The bin is now complete and ready for use. An old pond liner, carpet or membrane is recommended to cover the top of the bin for warmth.
